uva rajyam appointed Pavan Kalyan,

Prajarajyam Par ty which claims to strive for ushering in a change in politics on Sunday appointed Pavan Kalyan, brother of party
president Chiranjeevi, as the president of the youth wing. With this, another new political family seems to have emerged in the state. The youth wing of the party is known as Yuvarajyam and Pavan has been given the title of Yuvaraj. Addressing media, Chiranjeevi said, it is the youth who have to bring change in society. He had decided on Pavan not because he is his brother but because "he is a man with social consciousness who has been wedded to the social cause since his childhood.'' The new youth president's appointment was solemnised by Chiranjeevi by presenting him a kanduva of PRP. Chiranjeevi tried to explain that PRP was not a family-owned organisation. "It's people's party. Leaders who have no standing among the people and unacceptable to them have no place in the PRP," he said. The politics in the state, he said are controlled by a handful of families belonging to major parties. While reins of the party at the state level are held by the first family, at moffusil level, regional families rule districts like warlords. "The fact that Pavan is my brother should not disqualify him from leading the youth of the state on behalf of Prajarajyam," Chiranjeevi said. Pavan's appointment, he added, would help streamline the youth force in the state as it was they who want the leadership be entrusted to him. He felt that Pavan's presence at the helm of Yuvarajyam would lead to the massive participation of youth and fans in the political process initiated by the PRP. Talking to the media, Pavan said he had no intention to contest elections. "I am not interested in contesting. I will serve the party and dedicate myself to do whatever work Chiranjeevi entrusts me," he said. Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi said the party had been holding consultations with Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) for an alliance. "Party leader Allu Aravind is in touch with TRS leader Harish Rao and I can't say how these talks would fructify but we are open for alliance with like-minded parties," Chiranjeevi said. Later in the evening, Janata Dal (U) leader Sharad Yadav met Chiranjeevi at the PRP office. According to party sources, it was only a courtesy call even though many issues of political importance are learnt to have figured in the meeting.
