who are making add s for prp chiru
Chiranjeevi, who has put in over 3 decades in the Telugu film industry as actor and producer, besides various other avatars, knows that visual presentation goes a long way in impressing his fans. So he has roped in some fresh talent that does not belong to any political camp to window dress his campaign by making some very insightful documentaries and ad films on Chiru and his newly-launched Praja Rajyam Party that would stand out from the usual crop of poll-time promos.
Sources say that Chiranjeevi met Srikanth Addela and conferred with the hot shot director about how best to present Praja Rajyam Party and Chiranjeevi's party ideologies. It seems that Srikanth Addela was brimming over with ideas for the ad films and documentaries that will centre on PRP's political campaign.
MLA triggers caste war in Coastal Ap
Caste has always played a vital role in the State politics and time and again various castes have determined the rulers. And as the elections are fast approaching and political parties are vying with each other to make their places secure, caste has once again emerged as the key player.
The long-drawn cold war between Kapus and Kammas in the coastal Andhra is set to flare up all over again with the entry of Vijayawada (East) MLA Vangaveeti Radhakrishna into the Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) last week.
Radhakrishna’s entry into PRP came as booster for its president Chiranjeevi. For, it is expected to result in caste polarisation in coastal Andhra, particularly in Krishna and Guntur districts which would definitely benefit the PRP.
Radhakrishna, who belongs to Kapu community, has been virtually waging a war with Kamma leaders in Krishna district, though both the communities have been backing the Congress party. In fact, the Kapu-Kamma rivalry dates back to several decades and it reached a climax with the murder of Radhakrishna’s father Vangaveeti Ranga exactly two decades ago. Ranga was the most revered leader for Kapus and backward communities in the coastal Andhra and one can find his statues in several villages as mark of respect.
Ranga was in the Congress at the time of his murder and that obviously took a political colour since Kammas were the backbone of the Telugu Desam (TD) at that time. However, in the last one decade, political equations changed rapidly as Kammas have also started backing the Congress.
One of the prime accused in the murder case, Devineni Rajasekhar, who was in the TD, later joined the Congress. Prominent Kammas among others who entered the Congress include former Union minister P Upendra, Vijaywada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal and Daggubati couple.
Yet, the Kapu-Kamma rivalry continued in the coastal Andhra. While Kapus and their associated backward classes, which constitute nearly 25 per cent of the total population of the State, did not get political power, Kammas continued to dominate the politics in coastal Andhra irrespective of whether it was the TD or the Congress in power. Radha has been trying to counter this dominance of Kammas in the region, particularly Lagadapati and Devineni groups.
He started wooing Dalits and other weaker sections by offering them various facilities, participating in community dinners, spending nights in the residences of Dalits and taking bath in Dalit colonies.
Simultaneously, Radhakrishna never lost an opportunity to oppose the Y S Rajasekhara Reddy government granting favours to Kamma leaders. He even threatened to resign from the Congress in protest against allotment of prime land to Deveneni Nehru at Banjara Hills. He also opposed allotment of Wakf lands to Lagadapati’s Lanco Hills in the city.
But with the government pampering Kammas in the region, Radhakrishna has started playing behind-the-screen role for Chiranjeevi’s PRP. Being a close associate of Chiranjeevi’s brother Pavan Kalyan, Radhakrishna has been funding their fan clubs for quite some time. He is said to be the brain behind Pavan Kalyan’s proposal for establishment of a "Common Man’s Protection Force." Now, he officially joined the PRP.
Analysts say Radhakrishna is going to bring about a major shift in Kapu and other BC voters in favour of the PRP. And he has already started his campaign. That would be a major blow not only to the Congress, but also to the TD, which is desperately seeking the support of BCs, apart from Kammas. So, it would be an interesting battle in the coming days

Grill govt on pollution problems: PRP chief....Chiru flays CM for giving clean chit to ministers
Grill govt on pollution problems: PRP chief
SANGAREDDY: Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) chief Chiranjeevi called upon the people to grill the government on the issue and promised to resolve the problems caused due to pollution if his party was voted to power. He said PRP would take steps to check pollution.
He was addressing villagers of pollution-hit Pocharam in Patancheru mandal today and lent a patient ear to the people’s woes. Chiranjeevi said pollution was certainly a problem created by man. He said that it was a result of the negligence of those ruling the State.
``Had the government spent half of the amount embezzled by engineer Suryanarayana, the problems due to pollution in this village would have been resolved,’’ he remarked. The rulers are interested only in looting money but not in the people’s welfare, he lambasted. The actor-turned-politician, who was supposed to participate in Praja Ankita Sabhas at Patancheru, Sangareddy and Zaheerabad today has changed his programme in the last minute learning of the people’s problems in the pollution- hit villages. After addressing the meeting at Patancheru, he headed to Sangareddy. On the way, he made a brief stay for taking his meals on the outskirts of Rudraram.
The PRP chief who was scheduled to proceed to Sangareddy changed his programme and headed to Pocharam village.
The villagers briefed him about the contamination of ground water by the chemical factories. They told him that Nakkavagu, river Manjeera and Usike vagu were getting polluted as the factories were releasing the effluents directly without proper treatment.
Chiranjeevi visited the canals and examined the water. Jana Vignana Vedika leader Chidambaram briefed him about the various health problems people were facing due to pollution.
The Supreme Court had given directions that effluents should be let out into water bodies only partially purifying them in the treatment plants, Chidambaram told Chiranjeevi.
Chiru flays CM for giving clean chit to ministers
Objecting to the Chief Minister giving a clean chit to the ministers and MLAs alleged to be involved in the multi-crore scam by the Fisheries Department executive engineer Suryanarayana, Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) chief Chiranjeevi alleged that the Congress had no faith in the judiciary and they themselves were conducting inquiries into the various scandals and giving clean chits to the accused.
Speaking at various meetings organised as part of Praja Ankita Sabhas in Medak district today, the PRP chief alleged that corruption was rampant under the Congress regime.
Even in the DPEP scandal, they exonerated a person close to the Chief Minister and gave promotions, he alleged.
Citing the example of Lalbahadur Sastry, who had resigned owing moral responsibility for a train accident, Chiranjeevi opined that the present leaders had no moral values.
Devender Goud joins hands with Chiranjeevi
Devender Goud joins hands with Chiranjeevi
Hyderabad (PTI): Nava Telangana Party of former Andhra Pradesh home minister T Devender Goud on Sunday joined hands with actor Chiranjeevi's Praja Rajyam Party, impressed by the latter's "Social Telangana" slogan.
Goud met Chiranjeevi at the PRP office here this morning and discussed the political scenario and expressed his party's decision to forge an alliance with the latter.
Talking to reporters, Devender Goud said the PRP too was working on the same ideals like his NTP. "Our party has been formed on the basis of carving out a 'Social Telangana' which the PRP too has endorsed. Together we shall work for the cause of Telangana," Goud added.
Chiranjeevi hailed the NTP's decision to join hands with his party.
The PRP chief said his party still continued talks with another separatist party Telangana Rashtra Samiti on a possible electoral alliance. "Our doors are still open," he remarked.
Asked about this, the NTP chief said his party would have no objection over PRP's electoral alliances. "The PRP is free to forge alliances with any party. In fact, we would welcome the party's ties with any pro-Telangana party," Goud said.
He added that share of seats and other issues would be discussed at a later stage.
Devender Goud quit the Telugu Desam Party in June this year to float the Nava Telangana Party. For sometime now, there has been speculation that he would join hands with Chiranjeevi or even merge his party with the PRP.
Political analysts see Goud's move as the first step towards a possible merger of NTP with PRP.

Srikanth willl join in congress...
Hero Srikanth is a die hard fan of Chiranjevi. He calls Chiru as his elder brother or annayya. Chiranjeevi also considers Srikanth as one of his younger brothers, like Naga Babu and Pawan Kalyan.
But of late, there are some reports that al is not well between Srikanth and Chiru. It was said that Chiru had been keeping Srikanth away from matters relating to the PRP. Srikanth was said to be sulking as a result and he has been keeping a low profile ever since. There were also some rumours floating around that said that Srikanth was preparing to join the congress party. Srikanth spoke to the media the other day and he denied that he had any differences with Chiranjeevi. He said that he was busy with his film assignments and so was not seen with Chiru of late.

Nagababu to contest elections for Praja Rajyam
Chiranjeevi's brother Nagababu is now busy with film s as well as Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) work. The actor is likely to contest from Vizianagaram for the Lok Sabha. Viziaanagaram has a high concentration of Toorpu Kapus, Chiranjeevi's caste. This fact should definitely help the actor-turned-politician.The PRP also wants to take on Bothsa Sathyanarayana, a very vociferous critic of Chiranjeevi on his own turf and teach him a lesson.Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi's youngest brother Pawan Kalyan was appointed leader of Yuva Rajyam, the PRP's youth win. But he will not be contesting in the elections. Pawan Kalyan is currently shooting for his film Komarum Puli .
A new film titled Praja Rajyam is being planned by Suresh Kondeti. Suresh is the founder/editor of the film magazine Santosham. Suresh produced a film titled Premisthe on the SK Pictures banner in the past. Suresh has registered

a mouse out of a lion? Mohan Babu Ignored
Mohan Babu will reconsider his decision to go along with Congress after this incident.
The incident goes like this- It was the marriage of a marriage of a senior congressman's daughter. The invitee list was not only long but also illustrious. The leaders of the Congress party and also of the opposition were also invited. Among the list were the Chief Minister YSR, Chiranjeevi and also Mohan Babu. All the guests who were invited met the couple and went on to have dinner. But that was not the case with Mohan Babu. He had to wait till YSR arrived and only then was given a formal introduction to the couple. Mohan Babu had to wait in the sidelines till the boss (YSR) arrived.
What a fate to an actor who would chart his own course and lived like a king all these years. Has the alliance with Congress made a mouse out of a lion?
Chiru Camp Uneasy On Mitra
They say power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Political advisor and PRP mentor Mitra has always been the think tank for the Praja Rajyam Party. It's a known fact that Mitra is always consulted before a political statement comes out from the PRP. In a way Mitra is the spin doctor for the PRP.
But all this position and high power has gone to Mitra's head it is believed. The man has been interacting with the media lately and has been portraying that he was instrumental in getting Chiru into politics. The guy has also been exhibiting his knowledge at the most inappropriate of times sometimes even over shadowing the PRP chief Chiranjeevi.
All this has the family furious. The Chiranjeevi family has always led the PRP as a family affair and this sort of up handedness from Mitra is causing uneasiness in the camp. It is only time that Mitra is shown his place in the party feel many.
uva rajyam appointed Pavan Kalyan,
Prajarajyam Par ty which claims to strive for ushering in a change in politics on Sunday appointed Pavan Kalyan, brother of party
president Chiranjeevi, as the president of the youth wing. With this, another new political family seems to have emerged in the state. The youth wing of the party is known as Yuvarajyam and Pavan has been given the title of Yuvaraj. Addressing media, Chiranjeevi said, it is the youth who have to bring change in society. He had decided on Pavan not because he is his brother but because "he is a man with social consciousness who has been wedded to the social cause since his childhood.'' The new youth president's appointment was solemnised by Chiranjeevi by presenting him a kanduva of PRP. Chiranjeevi tried to explain that PRP was not a family-owned organisation. "It's people's party. Leaders who have no standing among the people and unacceptable to them have no place in the PRP," he said. The politics in the state, he said are controlled by a handful of families belonging to major parties. While reins of the party at the state level are held by the first family, at moffusil level, regional families rule districts like warlords. "The fact that Pavan is my brother should not disqualify him from leading the youth of the state on behalf of Prajarajyam," Chiranjeevi said. Pavan's appointment, he added, would help streamline the youth force in the state as it was they who want the leadership be entrusted to him. He felt that Pavan's presence at the helm of Yuvarajyam would lead to the massive participation of youth and fans in the political process initiated by the PRP. Talking to the media, Pavan said he had no intention to contest elections. "I am not interested in contesting. I will serve the party and dedicate myself to do whatever work Chiranjeevi entrusts me," he said. Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi said the party had been holding consultations with Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) for an alliance. "Party leader Allu Aravind is in touch with TRS leader Harish Rao and I can't say how these talks would fructify but we are open for alliance with like-minded parties," Chiranjeevi said. Later in the evening, Janata Dal (U) leader Sharad Yadav met Chiranjeevi at the PRP office. According to party sources, it was only a courtesy call even though many issues of political importance are learnt to have figured in the meeting.

Internal surveys predictlandslide for PRP
reports predicted by the commissioned surveys. While the surveys predict 25 MPs and 200 MLAs in the next elections, many senior leaders feel that the leadership is not taking into consideration the party's recent setbacks. They say the surveys were based on the image of the leader, not the winnability of candidates whom the party is yet to identify. Losing Left parties to TDP and failure to attract some prominent BC and Kapu leaders are some of the main setbacks for the party, they point out. Seniors questioned the basis of the survey results which have been carried out with Chiranjeevi as the central figure. "Will Chiranjeevi contest from 294 seats? To convert the image of Chiranjeevi into votes, you need a strong political structure. Where is it?" asked a veteran in the party. According to a close aide of Chiranjeevi, the party's internal surveys predict a landslide victory, both in the Assembly and Lok Sabha Polls. " The surveys predicted 200 Assembly seats for PRP. And for Lok Sabha, we are going to win not less than 25 seats," he said. The surveys are said to have predicted a sweep for the party even in some strongest TDP constituencies in north coastal Andhra. Even though the party is miserably weak as far as the organisation is concerned, the leadership is in an upbeat mood by the survey results. An internal assessment says the 22 per cent of Kapu votes coupled with massive support from the backward classes is bound to herald the "change" which Chiranjeevi is espousing. This over confidence, many senior leaders allege, has already started taking its toll on the image of the party.

Cop surfs net for bulletproof jackets
Mumbai limps back to normalcy10 men accounted for but terror boat had things for over 15How Black Cats kept humour intact
Mumbai: After being on non-stop duty for three days and nights, Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) Anup Dange is now planning to do some shopping. His shopping list: a state-of-the art bulletproof jacket and a helmet.
Back in his L T Marg police station office now, the cop is busy surfing the internet to check out prices of different bulletproof vests and helmets.
Dange is frustrated with the state machinery and the facilities provided to the police force to face challenges of such magnitude as the November 26 Mu mbai Terror attacks. “We have jackets that prove useless when we have to face terrorists wielding AK-47s.”
According to him, the three top cops — Hemant Karkare, Ashok Kamte and Vijay Salaskar — might have had more chance of staying alive if it wasn’t for the sub-standard jackets. “The jackets are totally useless,” said Dange. He is now willing to shell out several thousand dollars to buy a jacket that will help in securing his life.
It may take another year before policemen can expect better bullet proof jackets which could have saved officers Hemant Karkare and
Ajay Kamte who died of bullet injuries during operation against militants in Mumbai even while wearing the protective gear. The government has finally agreed to demands of the police for improved quality of bullet proof jackets but there may be problems in delivery. "We need nearly 1,00,000 more such jackets. It will take another one year when we will have bullet proof jacket with improved qualitative requirements. It will be by end of year 2009," said Bureau of Police Research and Development Chief K Koshy. The new jackets are likely to be lighter with more body coverage and highly defensive against any ballistic attack. "The weight of the bullet proof jacket will be less, trauma level will be less and will cover more area of the body," Koshy said adding, "Work has begun towards redrafting the new qualitative requirements." Police normally use two types of jacket--one made of special cloth (Kevlar) that reduces the impact of bullet coming from small weapons like 9 mm pistol. For the automatic weapons, another triple layered jacket is used by the force which gives extra protection from AK series rifles, SLR or self loading rifle, light machine guns. Weighing about 10 kilograms, it is made of three special plates of bullet proof steel, ceramic plates and polyethylene plates. "The present jacket is not acceptable to police who were reluctant to wear them even during Mumbai and Jamia Nagar encounters," a senior police official said adding, "It is very uncomfortable and it does not guarantee safety from any ballistic attack."

congrce katha lo charithramaka vijayam....
I created this presentation because of my guilt.
I voted UPA last general elections.
Now I feel I am somehow responsible for the terror attacks…for the blood of the innocents…for the tears of agony of the parents and relatives and widows.
The UPA politicians valued vote bank politics more than the security of the nation. They blatantly diluted and removed anti-terror laws. They made Anti Terrorist police divert their attention from real terrorists. Their home minister was more interested in his wardrobe display than the victims of terror.
I realized I have made a blunder by voting UPA to power.
I realized I have made the lives of our children passport to power for the dynasty heirs through vote bank politics.
This is my small effort to compensate.
A matter of hours after he had picked up his Lifetime Achievement Award, he learnt that terrorists had struck at his flagship hotel in the city at Nariman Point and the adjoining budget Trident hotel which is also run by his company.
The award – what ought to have been the crowning moment of his career – was soon forgotten.
"It is still not clear how many guests or members of my staff have been caught up in this and I have been getting most of my information from the television, like everyone else," he told me when I spoke to him. "It is a hideous time as lives have clearly been shattered. What is so frustrating is at this point we don't know the full extent and there is frustratingly little that we can do."
With a grim irony, the last occasion I had spoken to Oberoi was just after the Underground and bus bombings in London in 2005. He had visited the city six weeks afterwards and had told me how heartened he had been that things were getting "back to normal." He said it had been the same story in New Delhi where there had been bombings earlier that year. He felt that, as terrible as it seemed, people were actually getting used to bombings.
"What has happened here is obviously more horrifiying because of the scale of it and the way it has been so carefully and methodically organised," he said. "There was clearly a desire not only to kill and to mame but also to damage the city economically. Around 35 per cent of our guests come from the UK and I am sure that was why they asked for British passport holders.
"The British are, however, a resilient people and I have no doubt that while in the short term they may be reluctant to come here they will soon be coming back. I think we all know now that that is the way to defeat these terrorists. Also I think the fact these attacks have now happened in capitals across the world there is nowhere that we can feel entirely safe any more. The fact is life must go on."
Oberoi, whose company now owns or manages 35 properties across six countries – from the Windsor in Melbourne, Australia, to the Madina Oberoi in Saudi Arabia – concedes that the attack could not have come at a worse time. He says that the downturn that has hit the hotel industry since 9/11 has been the most painful and the most protracted he has ever seen.
The firing has continued for over one hour now. It started just at 9.50 PM. Terrorists are reportedly using AK-47, hand grenades and pistols to attack the people. At least 25 people are reportedly injured in firing. High alert has been issued across Mumbai. The security personnel have been rushed to all locations where firing have been reported. A series of blasts were reported from Nariman Point, Grant Road and Ville Parle. Further details are awaited

Chirus Kadapa yatra ends
Chiranjeevi praying at Amin Peer dargah in Kadapa district on Friday.
KADAPA: Death seems to be shadowing the Praja Ankita Yatra of Praja Rajyam party (PRP) chief Chiranjeevi, as one more fan died on the last leg of yatra in the district today.
P Brahamiah (25) from Peddaneni Kaluva Dalitwada in Tsundupalle mandal, along with six of his friends, was on his way to Kadapa for participating in the Chiranjeevi road show when their Tata Sumo Vehicle met with an accident at Pallanagarpalle in Ramapuram mandal. A speeding lorry collided head-on with it, resulting in the instantaneous death of Brahamaiah.
His six friends and the Sumo driver were seriously injured in the mishap and were shifted to the Rayachoti Government Hospital.
With the condition of Ramachandra (30) and Yerraiah (25) worsening, they were shifted to SVR Ruia Hospital in Tirupati where their condition is reported to be critical. The others, including driver Penchalaiah, are undergoing treatment at Rayachoti. There were three deaths and injuries to ten others during the three-day Yatra in the district.
As for the Yatra itself, it evoked overwhelming response with thousands of Chiranjeevi’s fans and supporters turning up in large numbers at his road shows. People lined up the road on both sides for about 8 km from Bhakrapeta to Ontimitta, while his fans were seen showering two truckloads of flowers on him all along.
Earlier, Chiranjeevi visited Pedda Dargha (Ameen Peer Dargha) and offered prayers there. He spent nearly one hour in the shrine and was explained its significance by Dargah Committee secretary Anwar. Later, he offered prayers at Pastoral House and was blessed by the bishop. He stayed there for the night.
Handloom weavers presented him with a saree, asking him to give it to his mother.
Moved by the gesture, Chiranjeevi said that Madhavarm was as famous as Dharmavarm and it was an honour for him to receive a saree from the Madhavaram weavers. He assured them that once he came to power, he would make it a priority to address the problems of weavers.
On reaching Tallapaka, passing Ontimitta and Nandalur on his way, he said that he was really thrilled to be standing on the land where saint-poet Tallapaka Annamacharya had lived once. His speeches at Rajampeta and Kodur had an emotional tinge.
District Congress leaders, however, belittled the public response, saying the crowds turned out just to see their favourite star. DCC president K Suresh Babu said the people of Kadapa viewed him as a flim personality rather than a political leader.
Kamalapuram MLA G Veera Siva Reddy wondered how the PRP chief would eradicate factionism while himself being accompanied by known factionists Bhuma Nagi Reddy and MV Ramana Reddy.

NTP may merge with PRP?
NTP president T Devender Goud is seriously considering merging his party with the Prajarajyam Party, according to aides close to
him. According to sources, discussions are on between Goud and PRP leaders. The sources told TOI that Goud started exploring options to merge his party with PRP after Chiranjeevi's Telangana yatra failed to evoke as much response as from the coastal Andhra. PRP wants to rope in a strong and senior political leader from Telangana as its representative. Devender Goud's NTP has also failed to leave its strong presence in Telangana as a political force.
Chiru: Old wine in new skin?
It is considered bad form to be severe on promising challengers to the status quo. A legitimate reason for doing so, however, is an indication that their thinking isn’t very different from the present sort. So, it appears, with the founder- head of Andhra’s new political aspirant for power, the Praja Rajyam of cine star Chiranjeevi.
Readers may recall to a brief news item that appeared last weekend, on his remarks at a function organised at his party office to mark Nehru’s birth anniversary, observed as Children’s Day. Around 100 school children were present when Chiru made the mandatory speech in which he regretted the lack of grasp among children of social conditions and like issues, due to their preoccupation with studies. “If the PRP comes to power, it will ensure they are made conscious about several things” was Chiru’s promise of change. To which we’d like to add that if this is his vision of power, he needs a longer learning spell out of it. We already have a surfeit of wizards who have a long list of instructions on what and how to fill our children’s supposedly empty minds, with little regard for their own views on the pace, manner and content of learning. The last thing needed is yet another politician eager to add his own bucketful of orders on the “several things” to be added to the existing burden.
Education in India is, as a rule, a rigid load of courses to be imbibed without question and regurgitated in an approved manner at examination time. Questioning isn’t encouraged and flexibility in allowing educators, parents or students to try it in a different way is usually absent.
The emphasis is on standardising content and procedure, which leaves little room for catering to individual needs or interests, for keeping pace with market needs, for combining with the world of work. We are familiar with all this, as also the severe cramp on state-controlled supply in the face of a crying demand for relevant products for individual needs. All those gates need to be opened and ideas and alternatives to flourish. But our would-be deliverer of change comes with a new list of the things the State will ensure that children must be taught. This is no vision for change; it shows a primary lack of diagnosis. And if this is what is on offer, Mr Chiranjeevi ought to rename his party.

Huge turnout at Chiru road show in Pulivendula
Nearly 20,000+ people accorded a warm welcome to the PRP chief. He was greeted with shouts of joy and slogans by the people, who patiently waited for the actorturned- politician, who was behind schedule by four hours. He was supposed to reach Pulivendula by 10 a.m. but arrived at around 2 p.m.
All the commercial establishments downed their shutters down and decorated their shops with PRP flags and banners to welcome their matinee idol. Chiranjeevi too, responded in a emotional way, clearly overwhelmed by the reception he got from the people. In the aftermath of yesterday’s violence in Pulivendula, wherein PRP leaders Shoba Nagi Reddy and Kotagiri Vidyadhar Rao were attacked by some unidentified miscreants, suspected to be Congress activists, and PRP leaders holding the Chief Minister responsibility for it, the Congress activists, staged dharnas wearing black badges at some places along the yatra route of the PRP chief. At some places PRP flags were also burnt by the protestors.
When one Congress supporter, identified as Kuwait Gangadhar, assaulted a PRP activists and tried to damage the party flag, he was taken into custody.
A 32-year-old youth P Venkata Narayana Reddy from Sunkesula village in Simhadripuram mandal was critically injured, after he fell off from a building terrace as result of a stampede that took place when everyone rushed to have glimpse of the megastar.
He was immediately rushed to Pulivendula Hospital and later shifted to RIMS Hospital in Kadapa.

PRP chief Chiranjeevi hits out at YSR
PRP chief Chiranjeevi hits out at YSR
Hours after the attack by ruling Congress party activists on the leaders of his Praja Rajyam party, actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi took on Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy in the latter's home district Kadpa.
Addressing massive crowds in Pulivendula town Wednesday, Chiranjeevi criticised the chief minister for not ensuring development of other parts of the state on par with his home constituency.
Chiranjeevi, whose ongoing 'yatra' entered the chief minister's assembly constituency Pulivendula, also wondered if a 'Special Political Zone' has been created in the region.
"The government is creating many Special Economic Zones (SEZs) but it should not create a 'Special Political Zone'," he said while referring to the attack on Praja Rajyam leaders and activists in the town Tuesday night.
"The chief minister says that everybody has the right to form a party and contest the elections in a democracy but his philosophy has not gone down to the grassroots level," the actor said.
"I may not have money and muscle power but I have the support of my fans," he said amid loud cheers by the crowd. He also appealed to his fans to remain peaceful.
Thousands of people turned up to catch a glimpse of Chiranjeevi, who is already locked in a war of words with the chief minister.
The Praja Rajyam founder denied Reddy's allegation that the actor did nothing for his native village Mogalturu in West Godavari district despite being a superstar for 30 years and earning millions of rupees.
He said if Praja Rajyam comes to power, he would turn every village in the state into Mogalturu.
Chiranjeevi reiterated his allegation that the chief minister was showing favour only on his constituency. "I wish if he has taken care of every village and town like this," he said.
Chiranjeevi, who began his 'yatra' in the faction-ridden Rayalseema region Sunday, has been criticising Reddy and the Congress government for "corruption" and "lack of development".
Chiranjeevi's security was stepped up after some miscreants attacked Praja Rajyam leaders and activists. Seven people were injured and seven cars were damaged in the attack.
Blaming the ruling Congress party for the attack, Praja Rajyam Wednesday urged director general of police and state human rights commission to intervene and bring the culprits to book.
The miscreants attacked the guest house where Praja Rajyam leaders and former ministers K. Vidyadhar Rao and Shoba Nagi Reddy were holding a press conference to deplore the action of some Congress activists in burning and tearing away their party posters and banners in the town.
Praja Rajyam leaders alleged that the police did not act as stick-wielding Congress activists went on the rampage, damaging their cars and manhandling those present in the guest house.
Congress activists also staged a sit-in before the guest house demanding an apology from Praja Rajyam leaders for criticising Reddy and demanding his resignation.
The attack and protest led to tension in the town as police increased security around the Praja Rajyam office.
